Two Months

Where does the time go?  It's about time for an update!

Things have been going well.  Luke went for his 2 month check up on the 17th.  He weighs 12 lbs. 4 oz. & 22.5 inches long.  We'll go back at 4 months.

Things have been a little crazy around our house (it seems we never have a dull moment).

In March Paul Michael got the job he's been waiting for with CenterPoint Energy (the reason we moved to Shreveport last year).  This has been a total blessing with perfect timing for our family.

Because of his job, I was able to quit my job.  I am working right now (I gave my 2 week notice right before I came back, so I'm just working 2 weeks).  Needless to say, this week has been very hard for me.  I just keep telling myself that it's only 2 weeks!  I just didn't realize how much I wanted to stay at home with my baby until he got here!  I will be working one afternoon a week.  I think this will be good for me and Luke - grownup time for me (not to mention keeping my license) & time with other grownups for Luke.

We have also put our house on the market.  We're looking for a house in a better area, better school district, better price.  So, like I said, it's never dull around here!

One Month

One month old already?!  Luke is 5 weeks old today.  Where does the time go???

Luke and I both went for check ups last week.  Mine went well.  I will be staying home until April 16th :)

Luke weighed 10 lbs. 1 oz. at his checkup.  He is 21.5'' long.  He's just growing like crazy.  His doctor was happy with his weight gain.

It's hard to update the blog now days.  I try to take lots of pictures, but they just don't make it on here very fast.

And we've actually had a busy week last 2 weeks.  Luke and I have been getting out a bit more.  We had 2 lunch dates with Daddy week before last. Then we made our first big outing to Monroe/Sterlington Saturday (3/10).  We took Sampson & Piper to be spayed and neutered - no more puppies for us.  We spent the day at Paul Michael's parents visiting with them and many others who stopped by to see Luke.  My parents came this way Sunday (3/11) - Dad & Kyle spent the first part of the week at Lake Fork fishing while Mom came to stay with us.  My grandpa & his wife also came to visit Monday - Wednesday.  Mom & Dad headed home Saturday.  So needless to say Luke and I very much enjoyed having Granny here for the week.

Lazy Week

Boy, have we done a whole lot of nothing this week!!!  We're just enjoying laying around all day.  I really don't have much to update.  Paul Michael's mom came and stayed a couple of days last week, and we had a few visitors over the weekend.  That's about it.

Luke is sleeping well for the most part.  Sometimes when he wakes up at night he doesn't want to go back to sleep for a little while.  We've had several night that he has gone to bed about 9 and only wakes up once during the night.  Let's hope this lasts! :)

1 Week Old

Oh, how the time flies.  And it only gets faster.  I can't believe our little man is a week old already.  This week has gone by so fast.

The sun finally came out yesterday, and boy, did we soak it up.  We had a lazy Sunday & enjoyed it very much.

Not that any night has been a bad night yet, but the last 2 nights were especially good nights.  I wake Luke up every 3 hours to eat & he goes right back to sleep.  (The first few nights I had a hard time getting him awake to eat, then he didn't want to go back to sleep once he was awake.)

This morning Luke had his bilirubin checked again.  It went down 5 points!  This is great - no bili light!  We don't go back to the doctor until his 1 month checkup.

First Photo Session & Doctor Visit

Luke had a busy 2 days.

Yesterday he had grandparents, great grandparents, & great aunt visiting.  Paul Michael's parents and grandparents came from Sterlington to visit our little man for the day.  And my grandmother & aunt came from Mississippi for the night.  Luke doesn't know what to do without somebody holding him - he's had so many people loving on him.

This morning my photographer aunt took some precious pictures.  I'll post a few.

Luke also had his first doctor's appointment today.  His dr. was a little concerned about the weight he was losing in the hospital & his bilirubin being high (jaundice).  Today we went to the lab & had blood drawn to recheck his bili, then we went to the dr's office to be weighed.  He weighed the same as when we went home from the hospital.  She said she was happy with this, because this means his weight is stabilizing (he hasn't lost anymore).  But his bili is even higher than it was Wednesday.  She said she wasn't too worried because he is eating well & not losing weight.  We will have his bili rechecked again Monday & go from there.  Pray the sun comes out this weekend - little man needs to sun bathe!  It has been raining or cloudy since we got home.

Let the pictures begin...

We're Home!

Thank you all so much for calls, texts, & Facebook messages.

Everything went so well with the labor and delivery.  We went to the hospital shortly after 10 Sunday night thinking they would tell us that still nothing had changed, and we would be back home.  At 10:50 they had me in L&D, asking questions, doing paperwork, & checking me for the 1st time.  She said I was 2cm dilated & 50% effaced....about that time my water broke.  It went very fast from there!

We made it home from the hospital yesterday about 2.  He's doing so great.  We couldn't ask for a better baby.
