It's a...

     ...baby!

No, we did not find out what it is.  Paul Michael was hoping they would slip up and tell us.  But the doctor didn't even look for himself.

Seeing the baby today was awesome.  That little baby is kicking and punching and grabbing (although I can't feel any of it yet).

Paul Michael says it is totally a Barnett baby.  The first thing Dr. Pineda said when we saw the profile was that the baby has a "pug" nose!  When measuring the femur, he said that it probably doesn't have it's daddy's height either.

He said everything looks normal.  Heart rate is 148 bpm.  It weighs 5 oz.
And I've gained 10 lbs!

You can see the profile of the face on the left. The baby's laying on its back.  That light blob above the baby is the umbilical cord.

Here you can see a leg and foot.

Our next appointment is September 27th.

We Made It....

to the end of the 1st trimester!

Hopefully not to speak too soon, but I have made it this far without being sick at all.  The last few weeks I can make it through the day without a nap or going to bed at 7:30.  Praise the Lord!  Most days I feel like my normal self, and I almost forget I have a baby growing in me.

Paul Michael claims I've already found my pregnancy craving - chicken stripsAnd if you know me at all, you know I very rarely eat anything fried and not much meat.  Sunday I ate Sonic chicken strips for breakfast and Raising Cane's for supper - already Daddy's baby.  I'm thinking Wing Stop for supper tonight ;)

My appointment today was very quick (would have been even faster had the electricity not gone out when I got there)!
I've gained 6 lbs.  Although my jeans would tell you it has to be more than that!
The heartbeat was ~165.  The girls at work were making their assumptions as to what this quick hr means.  I'm not taking those old wives tales to mean much.  We'll just have to wait and see :)

I was a little surprised today when he scheduled my 2nd trimester ultrasound for August 31.  I will be 16 weeks at that time.  These weeks are flying by!

Growing Baby

We're 9 weeks along, and the size of a prune (2.23cm)!

The last few weeks have been good.  I've not been sick, just a bit queasy at times.  Paul Michael has been spoiling me by cooking supper every night.  This has been great, but it's also making my jeans a bit tight!

We went for another ultrasound today.  Everything looks great.  We could see the head and rump.  It looks more like a baby!  The pictures we got aren't as clear as what we actually saw in the office.  It was awesome to hear and see the heartbeat (178 bpm).  The machine estimated our due date to be 2/17.   (The doc said the due date can very within 2 weeks depending on baby's size & last period, but he's leaving our date as 2/14.)

It's hard to see here, but the top is head.

Our next appointment is August 9th!

1st Doctor Visit

6.24.11

We went for our first visit & ultrasound.  Our doc set the due date for February 14th!  The little tadpole measured .47 cm and about 6 weeks along.

Today I am half way through week 7.  So far I'm feeling good just really, really tired.

A Blog???

I'm not too sure about this whole blogging business, but I wanted a way to keep family updated throughout our pregnancy.  So here it goes...
