Never a Dull Moment

Happy Mother's Day to me -

I've been wanting a jogging stroller for a while now, so guess what I got for Mother's Day from my sweet hubby :)

Before I got pregnant Dad and I ran a half marathon, now I hope to get back in shape for another...we'll see...

Like I've said...there's never a dull moment around our house. I said all along that if I were able to be home full time I wanted to try cloth diapers. So here it goes...

Almost every person I tell that we're using cloth diapers has the same reaction - "Those pins are scary" or something along those lines.

There are NO pins! Cloth diapers are much different from when my mom tried them. Now days it's like a disposable, but you throw it in the laundry rather than the trash. Let me show you...

The diaper - The outside layer is waterproof with lots of snaps for adjusting to the right size for baby 7-35 lbs. The inner layer is a micro fleece. Liquid goes right through and keeps baby dry (YES, it really works!).

The insert - This microfiber cloth slides between the layers of the diaper and traps lots of tee tee.

This shows the insert half way in the diaper. There's a flap to lift and insert the insert.
One happy baby :)
I will keep you all updated on the adventures in running & diapering

Happy 3 Months Old

The past 3 months have gone by so fast, but at the same time it feels like Luke has always been a part of our family.  I am one lucky mom!

I have really enjoyed my time at home since I quit work.  Luke is growing so fast, and I can't imagine missing it.  He rolled over all my himself last week (5/7).  He's always smiles & coos all the time.  His sweet personality is starting to come out.

May 4 - Loving tummy time

May 9 - Nap time with  Sampson

Two Months

Where does the time go?  It's about time for an update!

Things have been going well.  Luke went for his 2 month check up on the 17th.  He weighs 12 lbs. 4 oz. & 22.5 inches long.  We'll go back at 4 months.

Things have been a little crazy around our house (it seems we never have a dull moment).

In March Paul Michael got the job he's been waiting for with CenterPoint Energy (the reason we moved to Shreveport last year).  This has been a total blessing with perfect timing for our family.

Because of his job, I was able to quit my job.  I am working right now (I gave my 2 week notice right before I came back, so I'm just working 2 weeks).  Needless to say, this week has been very hard for me.  I just keep telling myself that it's only 2 weeks!  I just didn't realize how much I wanted to stay at home with my baby until he got here!  I will be working one afternoon a week.  I think this will be good for me and Luke - grownup time for me (not to mention keeping my license) & time with other grownups for Luke.

We have also put our house on the market.  We're looking for a house in a better area, better school district, better price.  So, like I said, it's never dull around here!

One Month

One month old already?!  Luke is 5 weeks old today.  Where does the time go???

Luke and I both went for check ups last week.  Mine went well.  I will be staying home until April 16th :)

Luke weighed 10 lbs. 1 oz. at his checkup.  He is 21.5'' long.  He's just growing like crazy.  His doctor was happy with his weight gain.

It's hard to update the blog now days.  I try to take lots of pictures, but they just don't make it on here very fast.

And we've actually had a busy week last 2 weeks.  Luke and I have been getting out a bit more.  We had 2 lunch dates with Daddy week before last. Then we made our first big outing to Monroe/Sterlington Saturday (3/10).  We took Sampson & Piper to be spayed and neutered - no more puppies for us.  We spent the day at Paul Michael's parents visiting with them and many others who stopped by to see Luke.  My parents came this way Sunday (3/11) - Dad & Kyle spent the first part of the week at Lake Fork fishing while Mom came to stay with us.  My grandpa & his wife also came to visit Monday - Wednesday.  Mom & Dad headed home Saturday.  So needless to say Luke and I very much enjoyed having Granny here for the week.
