Busy morning....

Wow, we had a busy day today and all before noon!

The state fair was open early today just for Willis Knighton employees & family. I've never been to a fair before, so this was an experience for me.  Paul Michael & I headed out early and spent a few hours checking things out while it wasn't too crowded. Paul Michael can't wait to have a little buddy to ride rides with!

Paul Michael found plenty of rides to keep him entertained.  I sure didn't mind finding a bench to hold down!

My favorite part was the animals!

When we got home we had a package waiting!  Paul Michael is practicing for many Christmas' to come!

Whoa, baby!

Another good checkup! :)

When he measured my belly, he said we hit a bit of a growth spurt this month.  Paul Michael's hoping and praying that means our baby won't be so little after all.  We'll just have to see about that (the genes aren't in his or her favor on that one).

The little one was being a bit of a toot, not wanting us to hear the heartbeat.  But after a minute, he found a good, strong 168 bpm.

This little fella is moving like crazy!  Paul Michael has felt lots of little kicks & punches too.  Last night I was laying in bed, and it looked like a little frog in my belly.  It would jump on one side then the other.  It's such an awesome feeling.

My bp is normal.  I've gained a total of 20 LBS!!! But he said I'm doing fine, but I can't believe I've grown this much so fast.

Registering - what an experience!  Never give your husband the scanner gun.  He had so much fun picking things out.  So if you have any questions about the items on our registry - ask Paul Michael!  I will be editing a few things online, but he was so excited about some of the stuff I guess I'll just leave on there...watch those be the items we get multiples! :P
Check it out at Target & ToysRUs/BabiesRUs.

Paul Michael, the pups, and I went to visit my parents the first part of the month.

Half Way There

We've made it half way!  I can't believe it has been 20 weeks already.  My appointment today was quick.  I've gained a total of 13 lbs, and BP is good.  I'm measuring normal, & baby's HR was 161.

Everyone keeps asking if I've felt the baby move.  I've felt lots of little thumps and flutters.  I've been told that I'll know when it's the baby, but right now I'm just not sure if it is or not.

Paul Michael and I enjoyed ourselves this past weekend with a getaway to Hot Springs.  It was wonderful to get away, just the two of us.   We went to Little Rock to Babies R Us - did a little research & browsing.  (I'm taking any advise or suggestions on carseats & strollers.)

Bedding & Belly

I saw this bedding shortly after we found out we were pregnant, and I've had my eye on it ever since.  I finally ordered it, and it came in yesterday.  It is so cute!  I can't wait to do some decorating.

These are the items I ordered.

Paul Michael & I had our 4th anniversary this week.  It's amazing how time flies!  We had date night last night.

It's a...

     ...baby!

No, we did not find out what it is.  Paul Michael was hoping they would slip up and tell us.  But the doctor didn't even look for himself.

Seeing the baby today was awesome.  That little baby is kicking and punching and grabbing (although I can't feel any of it yet).

Paul Michael says it is totally a Barnett baby.  The first thing Dr. Pineda said when we saw the profile was that the baby has a "pug" nose!  When measuring the femur, he said that it probably doesn't have it's daddy's height either.

He said everything looks normal.  Heart rate is 148 bpm.  It weighs 5 oz.
And I've gained 10 lbs!

You can see the profile of the face on the left. The baby's laying on its back.  That light blob above the baby is the umbilical cord.

Here you can see a leg and foot.

Our next appointment is September 27th.

We Made It....

to the end of the 1st trimester!

Hopefully not to speak too soon, but I have made it this far without being sick at all.  The last few weeks I can make it through the day without a nap or going to bed at 7:30.  Praise the Lord!  Most days I feel like my normal self, and I almost forget I have a baby growing in me.

Paul Michael claims I've already found my pregnancy craving - chicken stripsAnd if you know me at all, you know I very rarely eat anything fried and not much meat.  Sunday I ate Sonic chicken strips for breakfast and Raising Cane's for supper - already Daddy's baby.  I'm thinking Wing Stop for supper tonight ;)

My appointment today was very quick (would have been even faster had the electricity not gone out when I got there)!
I've gained 6 lbs.  Although my jeans would tell you it has to be more than that!
The heartbeat was ~165.  The girls at work were making their assumptions as to what this quick hr means.  I'm not taking those old wives tales to mean much.  We'll just have to wait and see :)

I was a little surprised today when he scheduled my 2nd trimester ultrasound for August 31.  I will be 16 weeks at that time.  These weeks are flying by!
