My appointment today was good. BP good, and I don't think I've gained any weight in the last 2 weeks (which is fine). Baby's heart rate was 143.
Dr. said I'm not quite 50% effaced but more than 40%. Baby has dropped. We still have a bit lower to go, but this is much more than last week. He said I'm a good 1 cm dilated (he said last week I was barely 1 cm).
I feel like my body has changed a lot just over the weekend, so I was hoping for a little more news today. Dr. said he's not saying when this baby is coming because first pregnancies are so unpredictable - which I'm going to take as a good thing right now. I'm hoping he or she decides to come this week...we'll see.
So, if the weather would cooperate I would get to walking some more. I did walk a bit last week. (It rained a few days, so I didn't get out.)

3 weeks...
One more week down...
Well, we made a little progress this week. I'm still only 30% effaced, but he did say my cervix is very soft (which is progress). And I'm about 1 cm dilated. He said I should walk everyday, so now I'll squeeze my feet into my running shoes and get going.
My weight & bp were good - same as last week. Baby's heart rate was 163 bpm.
My next appointment is next Tuesday...pray for a bit more progress :)
Congrats to my friend Lindsey & her hubby Blain. They had a beautiful baby girl Thursday - Riley.
The girls at work threw me a great shower Saturday. We had a wonderful time and got lots of goodies. There was a good turnout - friends from work & from Shreveport, family from Monroe, friends from Monroe.

4 weeks....
The countdown is on! Only 4 weeks until my due date...can you believe how fast the last 36 have gone?!
Our appointment went well today. Baby's heart rate was 157 bpm & he/she is growing as the little one should.
My weight was up another 3 lbs (I'm right along the curve). BP was good.
And the news I've been waiting for - I am 25-30% effaced.
It isn't much, but it's something. He said we'll know more about our progress next week now that we'll have something to compare.
The nurse then doc asked if I was having contractions. I told them no, that everything seems just normal I guess. I feel the baby moving a lot. (A foot or butt poking out my side or punch a little lower when my scrubs are too tight, but no contractions.) When he was feeling my belly to measure my uterus he said I was having a Braxton Hicks contraction right then. Man, I sure do hope things continue like this!!!
36 weeks is still 4 weeks from my due date, which seems like a long time to not work. Doc asked how long I planned to work; I told him until he tells me I can't. Well...he said now would be a good time to stop. I have to make sure I have everything straight with HR, but as of today I'm on maternity leave.
I'm going to take advantage of this. I can tell I've gained wait other places than this baby, but I also have been swelling in my hands & feet a lot more the past couple of weeks. I know being on my feet about 7 hours a day doesn't help. So, I'm going to get some things done around the house, read a few books, and hopefully have everything ready for this baby to arrive.
Next appointment is 1/24 :)

34 Weeks
6 weeks to go!!!
My appointment went well Tuesday...quick.
Baby's heart rate was 156 bpm. My bp & weight were good. I actually didn't gain any weight the past 2 weeks (doc was ok with that & so was I).
I go back in 2 weeks (Jan 17). I'll be 36 weeks then, so he'll start checking for dilation & effacement. I'm hoping to hear some good news then. I'm starting to get a bit uncomfortable, so if this baby decides to come a week or 2 early I won't complain :)

Happy New Year!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year! :)
As most everyone knows, Paul Michael has me on house arrest. So, we didn't go anywhere for Christmas as originally planned. But we still had a great time. Paul Michael's parents came to Shreveport Saturday (Christmas Eve) evening and stayed the night. It was nice getting to do Christmas with them. Then my parents came Wednesday (12/28) and stayed until Saturday (12/31). We might get a bit spoiled everyone coming to us for the holidays :)
Mom & Dad brought the baby furniture...finally :) So, we spent time arranging and rearranging the baby's room & extra bedroom. Here a few pictures...
I plan on adding some more decoration once the baby gets here.
Three of the four puppies have gone to their new homes. It's sad to see them go. When I start missing them, I told Paul Michael to remind me of all the poop I've cleaned up. Even though they are too cute after all the cleaning up after them, I am thankful for their new homes.
By the way, the baby & I are doing well. Getting a bit bigger & more tired every day it seems. We go back to the doc Tuesday. I'll let y'all know what he says.
