2nd Birthday Party & Surprise Annoucement

Luke had an awesome 2nd birthday party.  He was very excited about his train party!  He very much looked forward to his train cake and blowing out candles (so much so that he blew his candles out 3 times)!

Luke is excited to announce that he will be a big brother in September!

New Year, New House....

Once again, it has been a while since I updated.  I was thinking to myself, "Why don't I update more often?"  Then I thought again...chasing a 20-something month old...enough said!

Since my last post we have been on the go, especially in the month of December.  I'm just going to give the latest update and some pictures.

In December we bought a house, went to Mississippi for a week for my grandfather's funeral, had family Christmases, and moved into our new house (all between Dec 11 and 31).  It was wild to say the least.

Paul Michael's family has helped us so much with all these moves we've had (and if you've counted this is the 3rd move in 7 months).  We could not have done it without them.

My parents came right after our move to start helping with the deconstruction we had planned!  We bought this house with plans to change quite a few things.  Dad did not let us procrastinate.

We have lots of projects planned, and we're just taking them one at a time :)

A Week of Firsts

The end of July/first of August has been a whirlwind!

Luke and I got home from Paisano on Sunday (7/28), spent the rest of the week packing, and moved on Friday.

Nana, Papa, and Uncle Eric came of Shreveport and helped up load up the moving truck.  We got everything loaded and unloaded Friday...talk about a long day!  While we were in Texas, Paul Michael found us a place to live!  Talk about an interesting move - I followed a moving truck with everything I own to a house I had never seen before!  (Side note: we are renting, not buying.  I do not think I could buy a house without seeing it.)  Paul Michael did great finding us a place to live!

Saturday (8/3) Luke stayed the night with Nana & Papa.  This was his first night away from his mommy!  We both did much better than I expected, but I'm still not ready to make this a frequent arrangement.

Sunday (8/4) Luke slept all night for the first time!  This was one excited momma!!!  I had not slept through the night for over 18 months until now.  He's still not sleeping all night every night, but he has slept all night at least a few times a week.  I am thankful for that.

Wednesday (8/7) Luke got his first hair cut.  No more mullet!  Yes, this was kind of sad to say "bye bye" to the curls.  But he looks so handsome.

We had such a busy move-in week!  Granny came for the week to help unpack boxes. She's such a big help!

We are still unpacking boxes...I don't think there is an end to the boxes!!!

And best of all - the soap making boxes are unpacked!  I have several new soaps going!  If you have any questions about anything I'm making, please text or email me.  I'm always changing things up, making new things, etc.  If there is anything you want for Christmas, please let me know!  I have a hard time keeping soap due to my wonderful customers at Oncology Associates :)

Paisano 2013

As usual, things are busy in the Moore household!  We have made quite a few trips to Sterlington/Monroe from the end of June to July for various reasons...wedding, showers, house hunting.

Paul Michael accepted a job with Boardwalk Pipeline Partners - a similar job as he does with CenterPoint but in Sterlington.  So, we're not building a house in Stonewall, as we had planned when we sold our house.  We are moving back to Sterlington the first of August.  We will be renting a house until we decide what to do and where - build? buy? rent?

In other news, Luke and I made our annual trip to Paisano Baptist Encampment with Granny & PaPaw.

Luke and I left Shreveport at 5:15 Thursday (7/18) morning, made it to Florence about 10:30, loaded the truck and left Florence at 11:30, traveled the rest of the way across Texas, and finally arrived at Paisano at 7:00 PM.  It was a very long day for me and Luke - traveling 14 hours!  Luke did great!  I could not have asked for a better riding buddy.  AND he only napped an hour the whole trip.  I can't believe how well he did!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our week in the Davis Mountains.  The first few days we were there the temperature were cool - not exceeding 70 degrees!  In the later part of the week, it was warmer but much more bearable than the Louisiana heat and humidity.

We enjoyed visiting with our great friends - Lindsey and Riley Buchanan! They came and stayed in the cabin with us Tuesday night, and we stayed at their house Wednesday night. We sure enjoy spending time with them.  It's so much fun to watch the babies grow and play together.

Friday (7/26) we made it back to Florence at 11 PM.  Once again, Luke was a great traveler.  He's such a trooper - just hanging in there whatever crazy things we do - even patiently waiting and watching the "vroom vrooms" (vehicles) pass by as we changed a flat on the way home (thankfully our only setback of the trip).

Mr. Buddy took us for a ride.  Luke was so excited he wasn't sure what to do with himself.

Climbing the "small" rocks.  PaPaw or Daddy will have to take him to "Fat Man's Misery" next year since he'll be a pro.

The bell was just as exciting as the rocks...maybe more!

Laid back...enjoying a swing

Enjoying a cup of banana pudding together

16 Months

A quick update from the Moore house...well, apartment...

The end of May we closed on selling our house and moved into an apartment!  My mom was here and helped up pack and move and pack and more...we were worn out.  The day after closing, mom, Luke, and I headed to Mississippi to visit Paw and family.

And We're....Moving!

...across town anyways... :)

Yes, we have sold our house (well, waiting on the appraisal to be finished)...and so far, everything is going through nicely.

We put our house on the market (officially) the first of April, and after 2 showings got a good offer.  Unofficially, we will be closing May 30...SOON!

We are in the works of starting to build a house.  Right now we are working on financing and blueprints.  Hopefully things will get rolling soon.

In the mean time, we are going to be apartment dwellers...yay...(just a little *sarcasm*)   Eh, it will be ok.  We're going to make the best of it.  Neither Paul Michael nor I have ever lived in an apartment, so we'll just take this as a new adventure!

Now on to the really important things, or one, I should say - Mr. Luke!  He is 15 months old today!  WOW!  Hard to believe.  I had a wonderful Mother's Day just with my boys yesterday.  I am so thankful for them.
